also i couldn't find a way of doing this via sync as the MM sees the sd card as a separate device so if you have this chain of thought thinking the playlists need to be on the walkman don't worry it doesn't. (negative point the sd card will always be labelled as a sd card it wont remember thus the plug in will need applied each time, actually its a bit flaky on my pc it does sometimes and doesnt other times i think this is with other connected devices taking the drive letter).Īlso when i first set it up I thought ok I just put the playlists on the device and the media on the SD but see point 2 below I mistakenly thought if i apply the plugin to the just the player I would be ok WRONG. So using the "device import" plug in above needs to be applied to both storage locations if you are using both for playlist driven imports as another user above pointed out both playlists will need written under a linux format thus one for each card.

So i prefer to load all my playlists and media on the sd card.ġ) When a SD card is put in the device and the device is attached via sony cable to your computer windows identifies the sd card as part of the player but MM does not, it sees them as different. the on board has 16gb so thats not going to work. I have over a 120gb of music and transfer music to the device via playlists as i use playcount/most recently played/ ratings and more to create live playlist that are dynamic over time. Ok here are some of the troubles I have found for those it not clear I have approx 30 playlist and I'd hate not being able to use them.Īny idea on what i could do next? I'd really appreciate any advice, as I got the player last week and haven't been able to use it!! Great Idea! It did work however, I now can see the playlists on (walkman) but there's nothing in them! They're empty. I have been going nuts trying to get this to work! Days and hours!!!! I suspect this may also be the case with other similar Walkmans (Walkmen?), e.g., the Sony NW-A30, A35, or A40. I couldn't find the answer directly anywhere else, so wanted to put it out there for others since I was just about to return my new player, which I otherwise like. The NW-A45 does not recognize playlists that are not in the Music folder on either the device or the SD Card. On the "Options" tab for the device, under the "Playlists" section, ensure that the destination directory is set to /Music/. If you are experiencing an error where your playlists aren't showing up on your device after synching, it may be a result of MediaMonkey's settings for synching the device. Wanted to drop in and post on a problem I experienced and resolved in synching my new Sony Walkman with MediaMonkey.
